St. Patrick's High School - 2009
Many of us have not had the opportunity to visit Karachi and see the numerous changes in our school over the years. This is the place that laid the basic foundation in our lives that eventually catapulted us into our professional lives. The class of 1967 has indeed branched out into the world and have settled as proud citizens in the new homeland while others decided to stay back and fight the good fight. As we approach middle age, there is a tendency to look back and finally accept that a number of people have contributed to some of the successes we have had along the way Even after all these years when the slide ruler was our proud device of the time now with the world wide web and other social networks we have been able to make contact with nearly all of the Class of 1967.

We would not be able to share these pictures were it not for the kind courtesy of Menin Rodrigues who let us use these pictures for our site.

Class member: Rashid Minhas, Nishan-E-Haider recipient, Pakistan Airforce

Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Nishan-i-Haider. -{RIP} No. 2 Squadron PAF Base Mauripur (Masroor), Karachi. Born 17 February 1951, Martyred 20th August 1971. The Official Citati
on: Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas (Nishan-e-Haider) On the morning of Friday, 20th August, 1971, Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, a pilot still under training, was in the front seat of a jet trainer, taxing out for take off. An instructor pilot from the same unit forced his way into the rear cockpit, seized control of the aircraft and having taken off, headed the aircraft towards India. With just some 40 miles of Pakistan territory remaining, Minhas had only one course open to him to prevent his aircraft from entering India. Without hesitation, and living up to the highest traditions of the Pakistan Air Force, Rashid Minhas tried to regain control of his aircraft, but finding this to be impossible in the face of the superior skill and experience of his instructor, forced the aircraft to crash at a point 32
miles from the Indian border. In doing so Pilot Officer Minhas deliberately made the supreme sacrifice for the honour of Pakistan and the service to which he belonged. For this act of heroism above and beyond the call of duty, the President of Pakistan awarded the Nishan-i-Haider to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas.

This whole site for a reunion was the idea of Jamshed Ghandi. Along the way Ken Barrie jumped on board and worked to make this happen. It has been quite amazing that we are in contact with most of our class mates.

The site has added features of the teachers of our time and recent pictures of St. Patrick's School, if you have any pictures that reflect our time there we would like to add them to the site.
